I am a Katy Bowman devotee, thanks to her blog and her online courses, but I just read her foot book.
This book discusses the problems with positive-heeled footwear and improper stance and gait, and how those impact not only foot health, but ankle, knees, hip, and back problems. I don't have foot pain or foot problems, but nonetheless, I discovered that all these years, I have been using my left foot incorrectly, and that is likely a contributing factor to my hip and back problems.
